Kiss & ride system is at the gates of the Colégio Alemão

The students of the Colégio Alemão can now enjoy the perks of enhanced safety upon arrival to classes, with the implementation of the kiss & ride system, which the Municipality of Porto has been implementing in an increasing number of school areas in the city, within both state owned and private schools. The main goal is to ensure that by the end of the year, the signalling system is established in over fifty school areas in the city.

Private car parks also grant free parking time in Porto

Private car parks in Porto also offer one hour free parking to traditional trade customers. The Parking lots of Praça D. João I, Carlos Alberto, Praça de Lisboa, Infante D. Henrique, Gomes Teixeira, Palácio da Justiça and the Praça Adelino Amaro da Costa associated with the initiative by Porto City Hall that aims to boost traditional trade in the Invicta during the easing of lockdown.

The STCP transported circa 190 thousand passengers per day, in May

STCP, Porto’s Bus Company, transported, on average, 190 thousand passengers, last May. These figures comprise the entire Bus network, operating on working days and represent 70% of the figures registered during the pre-pandemic phase.

The Municipal Executive votes a resolution to strengthen the support to taxi companies with 60 thousand euros, under the protocol to transport beneficiaries to vaccination sites.

Electric charging stations are set up and running in Porto

Porto already provides 12 electric charging stations (PCE) for automobiles, in eight different locations within the municipality. This measure is part of the municipal strategy to promote an increasingly less polluting city. Ten spots are already in place, out of 15 estimated charging stations.

STCP increases services as of today

STCP- Porto Bus Company, enforces service supply on working days, starting today, 24 May. The company stated in a news release that the high demand enforces this measure, as the usual number of passengers that travel by bus is returning to similar numbers before the pandemic, as a result of the easing of the lockdown measures.

Car parking at Palácio de Cristal is colour-blind inclusive

The Color ADD aids color blind people to recognise colors, and it is now implemented at the Palácio de Cristal car parking. This code system had already been installed at the Trindade Covered Parking.

Porto City Hall wins the "Cidade" prize by the Global Mobi Awards PRIO

Porto City Hall won the “Cidade” prize, granted by the Global Mobi Awards PRIO. This award was given in recognition of the project IDEA – Shared and Efficient Use of the Public Highway, which considers the innovative management of parking spaces nearby school areas.

STCP (BUS) resumes 100% service offer on weekends

STCP bus fleet in Porto resumes 100% service offer on weekends, starting on 8 May, as well as the tram lines 1, 18 and 22, in the framework of the stage 4 of the easing of lockdown measures, issued by the Government.
