The extension of the free of charge “Andante 13-18” intermodal transport ticket in Porto benefitted, last year, 4700 young people. The subscription renewal, which combines the non-chargeable principle to the benefits of the Porto. card, is ongoing until 31 August.

Taxis make circa two hundred runs every day to Covid-19 vaccination sites in Porto

The Municipality of Porto and the Taxi operators in the city have signed a cooperation agreement to transport people to and from vaccination centres, namely the Health Centres in the Western and Eastern part of the city. The service is available as of 9 March and it enables to travel to vaccination sites by taxi ride at two euros per one-way trip, and round-trips at 4 euros. This measure had already been announced by Mayor Rui Moreira on 22nd February, during the Municipal Executive meeting.

Bus Rapid Transit System tender launched to link Boavista to Foz in 2023

The Bus Rapid Transit System will add eight kilometres of green mobility to the city of Porto, as of the last quarter of 2023: this will be the new BRT Line. This new extension of the Metro do Porto, whose international tender was launched today, at the Serralves Park, by the Prime Minister, António Costa, will link the roundabouts of the Boavista and the Praça do Império, in an investment of 66 million euros, financed by the Resilience and Recovery Plan (PRR).

Card Porto. offers free transport and discounts in the city from 13 - 18 years of age

People aged between 13 and 18 years old, who do not have the “Andante 13-18” transport ticket, can load an "Andante 3Z Porto." subscription, of the public transport Andante network, at no charge, and with added benefits of the Porto. card, such as discounts and perks in different equipment in the city. The loading of subscriptions runs from 1 July to 31 August.

Repairs and improvements undertaken at the Rua de Álvares Cabral in Porto are concluded

The paving of the Rua de Álvares Cabral and the surrounding areas, namely the Rua de Sacadura Cabral and the intersection with Rua de Aníbal Cunha, Largo do Priorado and the Rua da Cedofeita have been completed. The endeavour was carried out by the municipal company Gestão e Obras do Porto – GO Porto, and represented a municipal investment of circa 425 thousand euros.

Metro do Porto and STCP (Bus) do not provide strengthening of operations in the eve of St John

The Metro do Porto will operate until 1 am on the eve of St John, from 23 to 24 June. This measure is taken to meet the constraints under the Covid-19 pandemic; as such, the company announced that the operations will be the same as any given Sunday.
