Porto will play host to the 20th International conference on industrial footwear on 17 and 18 May. Professionals from different countries will gather at the Invicta for the 20th International Technical Footwear Congress, a very much awaited event with a wide range of applicants and dozens of journalists who have expressed their interest in joining this conference.

Camellias are blooming everyone in Porto, making it ready to host the 23rd Camellias Exhibit in Porto, due to take place on 3 and 4 March. This edition will take place at the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória and it is jointly organised by Porto City Hall and the Portuguese Association of Camellias.

Porto hosts two concerts of Glenn Miller Orchestra at Casa da Música, starting at 5.30 pm and at 9.30 pm. Ray McVay directs musicians and singers, featuring songs from past times, which include "Moonlight Serenade", "In The Mood", "Tuxedo Junction" or "Chattanooga Choo Choo".

Between Saturday and Tuesday, there is an agenda to celebrating Carnival in Porto. Carnival is a Western Christian and Greek Orthodox festive season that occurs before the liturgical season of Lent.

Musicians Lorde, A$AP Rocky and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will headline the 7th edition of NOS Primavera Sound Festival. The 7th edition of the music festival will take place from 7 to 9 June in the City Park (Parque da Cidade), and artists such as The War on Drugs, Arca, Father John Misty, Mogwai, Jamie XX, Fever Ray, Tyler, The Creator, Vince Staples and Thundercat will be on stage.

Portugal Lovers celebrates its 6th anniversary with two editions of Urban Market, jointly with Hard Club and with the support of Porto city Hall. The market will run from 9 to 11 February and from 23 to 25 February. Entrance is free and the event takes place between 11 am and 7 pm.

The Systems and Computer Engineering Institute of Porto (INESC TEC) leads the European Project which aims to develop a mobile application that helps users save power by changing some of their daily habits.
