Tourists and visitors can be better informed and guarantee consumers suitable protection of their rights as of today, 12 July. DECO, Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection, has released an app for providing useful information and receiving complaints from tourists in Porto. This app was developed by the University of Porto.

The magazine that specializes in leisure travel and destination guides, Travel+Leisure, spotlighted the city of Porto in "The Top 15 Cities in Europe" list. Porto is described as a city in a country with "European metropolitan greatness".

Porto was the first city to formulate policy pertaining tourist transport, including touristic buses, tuk-tuks and other tourist related transport. Tourist transport is now banned from Bus lanes and housing districts. Also, the tourist transport sector has to meet stricter environmental standards.

Telephone boxes in Porto are getting a makeover; there were around 301 phone boxes in the streets of Porto in 2013. Nowadays, 167 phone boxes were removed and 134 booths will be fully recovered, with the equipment being replaced and completely operational.

Concerts of São João are brought to a close with Marta Ren and Clã that will perform this evening in Aliados.

"If someday someone asks about me / Tell them I lived to love you". It was to the tune of Salvador Sobral's "Amar pelos Dois", this years' Eurovision Song Contest Winner that the firework display kicked off last night in Ribeira do Porto.

In accordance with tradition on the Day of São João, the Thirty-third Rabelo Boats Regatta fills the river of beautiful boats, starting at 3 pm, and organised by the Port Wine Brotherhood.

The festivities that started in May 25, end June 25 with the "rusgas", in which inhabitants of the seven parishes in Porto parade throughout the city dressed in a traditional costume and singing.

The "music of the World" show will gather thousands of people to celebrate São João in Ribeira of Porto, the historic town centre, featuring music genres that range from Pop to Rock music, Salsa, Tango or even Cancan, House and Dance music. At midnight, the traditional fire work display will get the party going in Porto.
