Salia Sanou takes the concept of displacement and exile to the stage at the Rivoli, on 8 June

Choreographer Salia Sanou, from Burkina Faso, one of the most reputed names in African dance, takes to the stage "Du désir d'horizons", on 8 June, at 9.30 pm at Rivoli. Salia Sanou set up this performance to provide an artistic expression of the symbols of loss and displacements within refugee camps.

Paulo Cunha e Silva: "Culture is extended and expanded nature"

"751 Dias - O Tempo não Consome a Eternidade", [751 Days - Time does not Wear Out Eternity - free translation], is the title of the book written to honour former councillor for Culture for Porto City Hall, Paulo Cunha e Silva. The book shares an overview of the several actions the former councillor for culture developed while in office.

Porto plays host to conservation and restoration training of public art murals

For two days, Porto hosts unprecedented training in the field of public murals art conservation. Thus, two renowned curators will lead an educational training referring to restoration methods and conservation techniques on urban art. Public Murals and Street Art Conservation is the topic of this masterclass that will take place on 14 and 15 June, supervised by Will Shank, American mural curator, living in Barcelona, and Maria Chatzidakis, member of the St.A.Co (Street Art Conservators).

More than 5 500 visitors were able to admire the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Verdades since the reopening

Porto City Hall decided to refurbish the chapel a couple of months ago, and this has proven a very positive initiative as thousands of tourists and visitors visited this 17th century temple, especially the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. In two months, more than 5 500 visitors were able to admire the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Verdades.

Excellence in art pays tribute to Paulo Cunha e Silva

The works by the six final candidates to the Paulo Cunha e Silva Art Prize have created a collective exhibition, which will be on show as of 9th June, scheduled to start at 6 pm, at Porto Municipal Gallery.

Sonnabend Collection part II featured at Serralves from 11 May to 23 September

Short film Russa is awarded at IndieLisboa Festival

The film "Russa", directed by João Salaviza (who has won the Golden Bear in 2012) and Ricardo Alves Jr. was awarded the "Árvore da Vida" Prize at the 15th IndieLisboa.
