Porto hosts the Messiah by Handel this December

Porto hosts the Messiah by Handel on 11 December at Casa da Música (CdM). The concert is also performed by the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and the ensemble Cappella Amsterdam, as well as the community participation of 200 choir members, who will be seated beside the audience for an interactive concert.

A journey through the Hip-Hop scene in Portugal

"The Hip to da Hop" is a documentary-style film showing the Hip-Hop Culture in Portugal, directed by António Freitas and Fábio Silva. The film features a journey through Portugal, showcasing the work of more than 40 artists and musicians, writers, b-boys such as Odeith, Orelha Negra, Mundo Segundo, Chullage and NBC. It premieres on 25 October countrywide.

Nos Batailles kicks off French Festival Cinema at Rivoli

The romantic comedy "Nos Batailles" [Our Struggles], co-written and directed by the French-Belgian Guillaume Senez, will be opening the 19th edition of the French Cinema Festival, on 23 October, at 10 pm, at Rivoli.

This museum exhibition in Serralves has the works and the films

The work of Pedro Costa will be on show at the Serralves Museum from 19 October till 27 January. Visitor's imagination will be fuelled by the oeuvre of Pedro Costa, as it combines other artworks, namely sculpture by Rui Chafes, photography by Paulo Nozolino and filmmaking by Danièle Huillet, Jean-Marie Straub and Chantal Akerman.

Porto/Post/Doc features Chris Petit and Matías Piñeiro

Directors Chris Petit and Matías Piñeiro will be present at the Porto/Post/Doc, which runs between 24 November and 2 December in Porto. This event will be held in several places all over town, namely, Rivoli, Cinema Passos Manuel, Cinema Trindade, Porto Planetarium - Live Science centre, the Faculty of Fine Arts in UP - University of Porto and the School of Arts- UCP.
