Porto hosts the Messiah by Handel on 11 December at Casa da Música (CdM). The concert is also performed by the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and the ensemble Cappella Amsterdam, as well as the community participation of 200 choir members, who will be seated beside the audience for an interactive concert.

The collective exhibit "Adorno Político" ["Political Adornment", free translation], curated by Tales Frey, inaugurates at Maus Hábitos, in Porto, on 15 November. The exhibit displays a set of artwork by Brazilian artists that counterweights the way one looks at and makes sense of Brazil. The main goal of this event is to look at Brazil and understand it as one and only country, challenging to think of it "outside the box", through the work of artists such as André Parente, Andressa...

Twenty years on, Porto celebrates Saramago's Literature Nobel at Almeida Garrett Municipal Library, located at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. The event is entrance free till room capacity. It is scheduled to start at 9 pm.

The 5th edition of The Forum of The Future, which runs from 4 to 10 November, features the Artists Talks sessions, where artists of different nationalities present and debate their artwork. Emphasis will be placed in line with the theme of the Forum of the Future, debating the link between antiquity, ancient past, and contemporary culture, condensed in two words - Ágora Club.

The leader of the Russian activist group Pussy Riot, Nadya Tolokonnikova, is on the line up for the Forum of The Future in Porto this November, to discuss the idea that Greece is not only home to the schools of philosophy founded by Plato and Aristoteles but also home to a Practical Philosophy that created the "artistic activism".

"The Hip to da Hop" is a documentary-style film showing the Hip-Hop Culture in Portugal, directed by António Freitas and Fábio Silva. The film features a journey through Portugal, showcasing the work of more than 40 artists and musicians, writers, b-boys such as Odeith, Orelha Negra, Mundo Segundo, Chullage and NBC. It premieres on 25 October countrywide.

The romantic comedy "Nos Batailles" [Our Struggles], co-written and directed by the French-Belgian Guillaume Senez, will be opening the 19th edition of the French Cinema Festival, on 23 October, at 10 pm, at Rivoli.

The work of Pedro Costa will be on show at the Serralves Museum from 19 October till 27 January. Visitor's imagination will be fuelled by the oeuvre of Pedro Costa, as it combines other artworks, namely sculpture by Rui Chafes, photography by Paulo Nozolino and filmmaking by Danièle Huillet, Jean-Marie Straub and Chantal Akerman.

Directors Chris Petit and Matías Piñeiro will be present at the Porto/Post/Doc, which runs between 24 November and 2 December in Porto. This event will be held in several places all over town, namely, Rivoli, Cinema Passos Manuel, Cinema Trindade, Porto Planetarium - Live Science centre, the Faculty of Fine Arts in UP - University of Porto and the School of Arts- UCP.

The Family Film Project 2018 is in Porto from 15 to 20 October. Among other activities, the festival's programme features masterclasses, book presentations, film screenings, video installations, performances and children's workshops.
