Xmas fun in Porto kicks-off on 30th November at Aliados with Xmas lights switch on

The city is about ready to set up the Xmas light and the 30m high with 20m diameter LED lit Christmas tree at Aliados, in front of the City Hall. Everyone is invited to celebrate the switch-on moment, on 30th November, at 6pm.

As of this day, the city of Porto will be officially wishing Merry Xmas to everyone visiting the city, with 2.4 million LED bulbs that will enliven 80 squares and streets, gardens and buildings all over town.

Nothing like the glow of seasonal street lights to imprint the sense of Xmas.

Aliados will dress up with a Xmas tree of nearly 32 million bulbs wrapped in white, with blue, green and red nuances.

The tree lighting ceremony takes place from 6pm to 7pm, on 30th November and this gem spot will have its own Xmas programming to be announced shortly. Its lights will be switched on daily as of 5.30pm, from 30th November till the 6th January 2020, the Three Kings Day.

Simply gaze upon the fireworks and enjoy the concert that follows, making the Aliados the epicentre of Porto city's Xmas.
