We have unveiled the lineup for Porta-Jazz Festival 2020

The programming of the 2020 edition of Porta-Jazz Festival is revealed little by little. A first list of headliners reveals the names of Peter Evans, Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra, Impermanence by Susana Santos Silva, HVIT by João Grilo and Miguel C. Tavares and PULSE! by Ricardo Coelho feat. Frederico Heliodoro.

For three days - 7, 8 and 9 February - Rivoli Municipal Theatre hosts the Porta-Jazz Festival 10th edition featuring concerts, formidable jazz interactions, record launches, concerts with commentaries, masterclasses and jam sessions, in venues such as Grand Auditorium, Small Auditorium, Understage, Stage GA, Foyer and Café-Rivoli.

Peter Evans goes back to sharing the stage with Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra, on 8 February, at Rivoli Grand Auditorium, performing "Perception Beyond Knowing" which is also the theme of Evan's latest album "The Veil".

Evans is a trumpet player, who specializes in improvisation and avant-garde music, namely experimental music, contemporary, improvisation, and composition. The musician has collaborated with a broad range of figures in modern music, including Weasel Walter, Dave Taylor, Evan Parker, Matana Roberts, Tyshawn Sorey, John Zorn, Mary Halvorson, Peter Brötzmann, Aaron Burnett, Okkyung Lee, and Nate Wooley.

In 2011, Peter Evans founded his recording label More is More Records. Since then, he has released several very celebrated albums.

This unique event elevates jazz in the Invicta, with the mood of Jazz in Porto highlighting what is produced in the city. Also, the Porta-Jazz event will be the platform to either professional musicians or music students, of different nationalities.
