The Festival Vivarium runs on 24 and 25 March at Maus Hábitos, to inspire debate on the role of people and society in the so called "digital age".

The motto of the Vivarium is: "How will the digital age be like for humankind?"

Marianne Baillot, curator of the initiative, believes this is the right time in the city of Porto to discuss this topic due to the ongoing cultural expansion in the city, which provides the necessary context for this experience that embraces contexts other than the artistic, namely cybernetics, exhibits, music, and public debates.

The festival features the national premiere of Marco Donnarumma, who will present "Corpus Nil", "a ritual of birth for a modified body, built on a vibrant choreography between a human artist and a technologically intelligent machine, fuelled by biotechnology, biophysics detection and neuro-robotics intelligence", according to the organisation.

The Vivarium is based on a "multidisciplinary approach", as stated by the curator who states that this event should embrace visual arts focusing on the place of the body within society, presenting a ground breaking performance of Jonathan Schatz and Nicolat Canot, titled "In Vitro", an afterwards a "mini-artistic residency".

Vivarium wants to affirm itself as a "platform to thinking the consequences of the digital age", Baillot concludes.
