UP conquers silver medal at the Belgrade Business International Case Competition 2019

A team of students of the Faculty of Economy of the University of Porto (FEP) took second place in the podium in the Belgrade Business International Case Competition 2019 (BBICC 2019), a competition on the resolution of business cases, which took place in the Serbian capital city from 7 to 13 April.

The only Portuguese team, and also the only team representing the Iberian Peninsula, was second only to the Wilfrid Laurier University, a public university in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The competition included circa 20 schools and faculties from top universities worldwide.

The students Cíntia Ribas, David Oliveira, Francisco Brito and Nuno Medeiros, who were in Belgrado with Advisor Catarina Roseira, had to solve solves three real business problems before reaching the Final, and the Portuguese team was commended by the jury for its "analysis, innovative thinking, presentation, team spirit and dynamics".

The FEP team is part of the FEP International Case Team, an organisation whose main goal is problem solving, coached by professors Catarina Roseira and Renata Blanc.
