This women's race is all about fighting for a cause

The EDP Women's Run took place on May 19th, and 22 thousand participants from 28 nationalities took part in the 14th edition of the EDP Corrida da Mulher [Women's Race].

Susana Godinho, from the Sporting Clube de Portugal, was the fastest and won the race.

Participants to the 14th women's race have fulfilled their goal: run or walk throughout the streets of Porto, dressed in rose tinted t-shirts to support the Institute of Oncology of Porto (IPO-Porto) in the struggle against breast cancer.

Lots of fun and encouragement were delivered by women of all ages at Aliados. The Women's Race raised over 22 thousand euros for this cause.

The fundamental aim of the race is to raise awareness on Breast Cancer and promote physical activity in the female population.

The Women's Run included departure from the Alameda das Antas, at 10am, and the finish line was at Avenida dos Aliados.

The competition conclude in a lively atmosphere with Mickael Carreira tasking to the stage at Avenida dos Aliados, where participants from 28 nationalities and general public, celebrated this "pink" day.
