Students from 17 countries learn Urban Planning with BEST Porto

A group of college students from 17 European countries gathers in Porto for a Summer Course on Urban Planning, starting on 23 July.

This is the 22nd edition of "How I Met Your City", a summer course organised by BEST Porto (Board of European Students of Technology). It is worth mentioning that Porto is the third most sought after city in the most wanted city list in Europe.

For 12 days (till 3 August), 22 students will have the possibility to attend masterclasses and lectures on urban planning by professors and experts in the area, in order to debate issues like transport network, communications, energetic distribution and environmental impact.

Throughout the course, students will have the chance to assess a study case regarding the Campanhã area, jointly with Porto City Hall and the Urban Planning Cabinet. In addition, students will get to know the Portuguese culture with organised tours through the national territory.

BEST Porto was established 23 years ago, it is based at the faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and it has a delegation at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, as well. It includes 60 active members.

In Porto, it comprises circa 10 000 students from both faculties and it organizes, annually, over 10 local and international events, whose goal is to support Europeans student's training in the field of technology and to promote the mentality of international cooperation.

BEST - Board of European Students of Technology is a non-profit European organisation, non-representative and running on a volunteering basis. It is represented in 34 countries, and it has over 3.300 members, encompassing around 1.3 million students of sciences and Technology all over Europe.
