Applications for the Doing Business fifth edition, organised by ScaleUp Porto and, this time, partnering with UPTEC - Scientific and Technologic Park from the University of Porto run till 20th April.

Given the current pandemic situation, this initiative is now implemented in a digital format, with over 30 organisations available to know the innovative services and products developed by startups of the city and the region.

The business world faces a period of enormous uncertainty and also great challenges, putting entrepreneurs' adaptation capacity to the test.

More than ever before, innovation and technology grow in importance to tackle new challenges.
Also, there is the urgent need to collaborate and work together.

The Doing Business initiative by ScaleUp Porto, promotes business meetings between companies and startups, to stimulate partnership development and business achievement

This fifth edition brings two novelties. The first is related to the partnership with UPTEC, with the goal of increasing and diversifying the range of involved companies. The second, this will be the first time that Doing Business takes on the digital format, which was widely welcomed by the circa 30 confirmed companies in the fields of Health, Mobility, Banking, Communications, Retail, Energy among others.

"It is part of our mission to lead opportunities both for companies and entrepreneurs. Just as companies are adapting, so are we so we can continue to deliver sustainable value to the ecosystem, and this activity is an example of that", says Filipe Araújo, vice-Mayor of Porto City Hall and councillor for Innovation and Environment.

To have access to the meetings, startups should register till 20th April, at the ScaleUp Porto website, where they can find areas of interest and proposed challenges, to decide which companies are more relevant to meet.

Startups will also have access to a set of online conferences - "Road to Doing Business" - where they can explore tips and tools for meeting optimised output, in topics such as negotiation, pricing or strategy.

In previous editions, the Doing Business promoted a total of 327 meetings among 40 organisations and 55 startups.
