Porto Municipal Gallery inaugurates the exhibition "Estar vivo é o contrário de estar morto", on 5th October, at 5pm.

The exhibition is curated by Guilherme Blanc and Luísa Saraiva and the exhibition offers diverse artistic practices, putting the human being in the necessary and innate relation with the natural environment, dwelling on the issue of susceptibility of all living beings in the contemporary world.

The aim is to reinterpret the right to exist, the dual sense of absurd and common, credible and inconceivable, through performative, pictorial and film work by artists from different parts of the world.

The "Estar vivo é o contrário de estar morto" exhibit programme also features several performances, namely, the musical performance by bassoonist Pedro Silva "In Freundschaft", by Karlheinz Stockhausen, at 6pm, on the opening day of the exhibition.

On 7th October, Eva Meyer-Keller performs "Death is certain", where cherries are the protagonists, much like a fairy-tale sort of moment. It is scheduled to start at 7.30pm, at the Municipal Gallery.

The exhibition is entrance free at Porto Municipal Gallery and will be on show until 17th November, from Tuesday to Saturday, between 10am and 6pm, and on Sundays, between 2pm and 6pm.
