The great news, not a novelty, though, as The Invicta has been included in several world rankings by Condé Nast for the past years, is that Porto is shortlisted as the fourth friendliest City in the World, as voted by readers of Condé Nast Traveller in the Readers' Choice Awards 2020.

You know, "the places with the smiliest, most welcoming people" are waiting for visitors; and although the relevant factors that come to mind when choosing a place to visit is something like "ancient history, intricate architecture, or unrivalled art scene or amazing restaurants" (which, of course, you can find in Porto), the other great feature to a city or place are its people, welcoming and friendly. Porto ranks 4th, among Europe's Best Cities, with no surprise, we add. Galway, in Ireland ranks first and Helsinki, in Finland closes the list. Lisbon, also in Portugal, ranks 5th in the same ranking.

Traveling, and especially travelling far away from the bubbles and the comfort zones we put ourselves in, is extremely important to connect with different lifestyles, to meet people of different cultures and traditions. And although these are times that demand our resilience and collaboration as citizens of this planet to be stronger than we ever thought, in a global way, spirits must remain optimistic and look ahead for the brighter future that awaits when the pandemic is over. After all, the things that keep us connected as are diverse traditions and distinctive lifestyles.
