Porto Customs Building hosts the Portuguese Women in Tech Hackathon event on 28 September. For eight hours straight, 50 to 70 women will search for solutions regarding climate change.

The winning team for the best ideas will be rewarded 1500 euros. Applications run till 21 September.

The event kicks off on 28 September, and is scheduled to start at 8.30pm. All teams must come up with a final pitch at 6.45pm. The 1500 euros prize, to be delivered to the best team should be used to "implement the winning solution".

All participating teams are eligible to take part in a bootcamp promoted by Hack for Good Gulbenkian, which will be held at the Porto Innovation Hub, on 19 October.

Circular economy, mobility, food systems, waste management and extreme temperatures. These are the challenges and if you are a woman and feel that you are up for the task, the Portuguese Women in Tech Hackathon awaits.

The main goal is to "gather teams with technological expertise", focused on design thinking and prototyping.

Also, the organisation will include basic and secondary school students to come up with the most innovative solution for climate change related problems.

The registration form should be sent till 21 September - see here. Applications can be presented individually or as a team (two to four participants).
