Porto Old Customs House Conference Centre hosts the Open Science Fair, from 16 to 18 September. This is one of the most important international events on open science and deals with "Synergies for Sustainable, Open and Responsible Research".

The opening session kicks off at 11am, on 16 September, by Rui Vieira de Castro, Rector of the University of Minho and Yannis Ioannidis, in charge of the OpenAIRE European Project and the Research and Innovation Centre Athena, who are joined by Nuno Feixa Rodrigues, from the Foundation for Science and Technology.

The Open Science Fair is promoted by the OpenAIRE, in partnership with other Open Science European projects, namely FIT4RRI, EOSC Secretariat and FAIRsFAIR. Moreover, the Documentation Services of the University of Minho also support the event, as they are part of three out of these four projects.

The event gathers circa 400 participants who will share a comprehensive activities' programme, namely plenary conferences, round tables, hands-on workshops, demo and posters sessions, that will lead to experience and knowledge sharing, indispensable for the building of an open science.

Thus, participants will not only discuss infrastructures, services and polices that promote good practices, but also the competences and the innovation that are needed in-place, to disseminate research and evaluate science, just to mention a few.
