Free open air cinema in Porto this August

The initiative "Cinema Fora de Sítio", jointly organised by Porto City Hall and the INATEL Foundation, features open-air cinema this summer season at the Invicta. Various locations in town bring unique films, offering a delicious night out with family, friends or pets.

The programming of this 20th edition features the screening of ten movies, of every kind for every taste and age, every Friday and Saturday in August, starting at 10pm.

Access is free and there are 400 places regarding seating capacity for each session, according to the rule "first come first served". The front row is reserved for the younger age audience, where puff cushions will get them more comfortable.

Moreover, there will be free facial paintings and ice cream gifting before the beginning of each session.

Later on, it is time for "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World", a Fantasy/Action movie, directed by Dean Deblois, at Jardim de Sarah Afonso, at Prelada neighbourhood.

On 17 August, it movie time with the drama "The Professor and the Madman", starring Mel Gibson and Sean Penn, directed by Farhad Safinia, at Jardim de Liège.

Friday, 23 August the Jardim de Arca D'Água hosts fantasy and mistery movie "Pokémon Detective Pikachu".

On 24 August, the film to be screened is the drama/terror movie "The Intruder", by Deon Taylor, at Largo de Santo Ildefonso (Batalha Square).

Friday, 30 August features "Capt'n Sharky", an action/adventure movie, by Hubert Weiland and Jan Stoltz, at Parque da Pasteleira.

On 31 August, the free outdoor cinema cycle concludes with "Dark Phoenix", the 2019 sci-fi/action movie by Simon Kinberg, at Largo do Amor de Perdição.
