The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira was awarded the Master of Gold of the High Direction Forum of Spain.
This is a due appreciation, according to D. Carlos Escudero de Burón, the institution's Chief Executive, as "Rui Moreira's leadership aggregated the city, towards development and international recognition". 

The Master of Gold of the High Direction Forum acknowledge public officials who stand out in the economic, business, political and cultural fields.

The ceremony was held yesterday, on 28th January, at the Círculo Eça de Queiroz, in Lisbon, chaired by D. Carlos Escudero de Burón, the institution's Chief Executive.

It is worth mentioning that this is the first time that this prestigious Spanish institution holds the "Master de Oro" ceremony in Portugal.

As stated by the Secretary-General of the Portuguese Chapter of the High Direction Forum, José António Silva e Sousa, awarding one of the 2019 Master of Gold to Rui Moreira is the acknowledgment that under his leadership "Porto stands out as by its sustained growth and competitiveness at international level". 

Moreover, the High Direction Forum enhances the city of Porto as one of the favoured destinations for the Spanish people and spotlights the fact that Porto was "the high-point of their Royal Highnesses, the Kings of Spain official visit to Portugal".

The High Direction Forum (Real Forum de Alta Dirección) was established in 1982, under the chairmanship of HM King Juan Carlos I, and it is the privileged meeting point for management ideas. It includes over one thousand members of all sectors of society in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Panama and Bolivia.
