The INTHERWASTE thematic seminar in Porto kicks off on 16th October at Porto Innovation Hub to debate "Waste Deposit in Heritage Cities/ Heritage Areas of Cities".

Besides the host city, Porto, the Partners Meeting Agenda includes project partner cities such as Tallinn, Ibiza, Krakow and Cordoba that will present their Action Plans regarding the INTHERWASTE project. The two-day seminar also includes tours to the historic downtown Porto.

INTHERWASTE is a five-year interregional cooperation programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which main goal is to debate good practices and policies regarding waste management in historic sites and city centres, which struggle with high tourist inflow and large amounts of waste production.

A little over two years ago, Porto played host to a seminar with the purpose of establishing Regional Operational Programmes in order to develop integrated eco-innovative strategies as well as mobilizing a mutual learning plan regarding waste management's policy within tourist cities.

Organized by the Municipality of Porto, the INTHERWASTE project- Interregional Heritage Waste seminar has a twofold objective: experience exchange and policy improvements for sustainable waste management in European Heritage Cities.
