IBM Quantum Computer debated at UPTEC in Porto

The Future of Computing event happens at UPTEC- Science and Technology Park at Porto city, from 1 to 5 July. This initiative is organised with the support of the Municipality of Porto, via ScaleUP Porto.

The aim of this event is to enable participants not only to have remote access to IBM's Quantum Computer but also to teach computer programming.

This event is organised by UPTEC - Technology Park of the University of Porto, and it will gather experts from different nationalities who will discuss the state of the art in a number of areas of computing.

The second edition of the Future of Computing conference will bring together the most renowned experts in several areas of computer learning in Porto, as well as workshops by NVIDIA and IBM and researchers from top universities in the world.

Quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, photonics, chemistry and biological computing are key issues in the debate.

"Porto is, once again, the capital of the future of computing", asserts Cláudia Ribeiro da Silva, Head of Business Development - Tech of UPTEC, adding that "the future of Computing intends to gather Master's and PhD students, the industry, professors, researchers and stakeholders interested in new ways of computing. Our goal is to foster new ideas and new ways of thinking regarding the most advanced technologies in this area".

Day one of this event will be devoted to the NVIDIA workshop, with GPU Accelerated Computing with Python experts. Day two is all about neuromorphic computing and the third day approaches Quantum Computing.

The Future of computing programmes concludes with Chemical Computing and Industry.
