Hospital managers of São João and Santo António have visited the Mission Hospital Porto.

Chief executives of São João and Santo António Hospitals, and the president of the Northern Regional Medical Association have visited the Mission Hospital Porto. on 3rd April, set up by Porto City Hall at the SuperBock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota.

The Portuguese Army supplied beds and the rest of the material was assembled by the Municipality of Porto in just three days.

The necessary medical equipment is due to arrive within the next 48 hours, and the medic, nurse and health professionals within the week.

This shows an elevated engagement by the local authority as well as a tremendous effort to commit to fighting covid-19; several entities joined the Municipality in this fight, namely the Northern Regional Medical Association, which enables to relocate elderly in need of medical treatment.

It is worth mentioning that this impromptu hospital is equipped with all the necessary instruments.

This Mission Hospital provides 300 beds, canteen, bathrooms and shower rooms as well as acclimatization system that enables the place to remain at a constant temperature at all times.

The Municipality, together with several companies that are joining this project set up by Porto City Hall, ensures meal supplies, cleaning, security and linen.

This Mission Hospital Porto. enables treating less critical patients and release capacity operations for more severe patients in need of intensive care at both central hospitals in the city of Porto.
