The Future Female Founders programme aims at supporting women to develop business ideas in the technologies field. This project is promoted by Portuguese Women in Tech and the application deadline is 20th September. Participation in the programme is free.

The Future Female Founders goal is to provide women with the means to thrive in the technological ecosystem and establish their own companies and projects. This initiative is supported by ScaleUp Porto via the Convocatória Aberta.

The programme encompasses three stages: inspiration (access to entrepreneurs and mentors that can help business creation; networking (meetings and workshops with other participants; and capacity building (hands-on training with experienced entrepreneurs and access to the adequate tools to building a project).

"This programme is the first step towards finding an answer to a well-known problem: the short number of women that create and lead companies in Portugal. By combining networking, inspiration and capacity building, we will be able to set the foundations so that more women establish their own businesses, within a strong and supportive community", stressed the cofounder of Portuguese Women in Tech, Inês Santos Silva.

The target group for this programme are women that seek to establish their own business, founders at a very initial stage of the process that are looking to upgrade their skills.

Applications run till 20th September. The selection process will follow.

The programme kicks off on 10th October and closes on 14th November. Throughout one month, give or take, the 20 selected business entrepreneurs will have access to a 20 hour training programme, 20 hour mentorship programme, and also 20 hour team work sessions, to brainstorming new concepts and innovative business ideas, in areas such as BMC, Lean Startup, Pitch sessions, Prototyping and Beta Testing, Digital Marketing, Sales, Storytelling, and access to Investors.
