European Heritage Days 2020 are celebrated by the Museu da Cidade in Porto
18-09-2020
European Heritage Days are commemorated on 25th, 26th and 27th September all over Europe and Porto is no exception, with an array of activities that provide access to unique sites and monuments. This is that gem opportunity not only to enjoy free visits to rarely visited sites, as they are often closed to the public, but also to know the city's heritage culture.

The European Heritage Days initiative was launched by the Council of Europe in 1985, and it has become a joint action within the European Union, as of 1999.

The Museu da Cidade celebrates European Heritage Days with a vast programing, whose starting point is the operational programme DERIVA, which features trekking and walking routes through the city and guided tours to temporary exhibitions in different equipment of the Museu da Cidade.

Amid the ongoing pandemic, there are rules to comply with, namely the use of facemasks, especially in closed spaces, or to make sure social distancing is safeguarded; hand sanitation and respiratory etiquette must be observed.
