Baroque pieces cultivate rhythmic design at Avenida dos Aliados this September

Casa da Música Baroque Orchestra presents unique music in Aliados, Porto, on 6 and 7 September, starting at 10pm.
Music lovers will have the formidable opportunity to enjoy the Baroque music genre, a heavily ornamented style of music that came out of the Renaissance in the framework of the classical music concerts that summer season brings to the city of Porto. Everyone is invited and entrance is free. 

The first concert, on 6 September, conducted by the acclaimed maestro and countertenor Dmitry Sinkovsky features a repertoire that includes Jean-Féry Rebel, an innovative French Baroque composer and violinist, presenting "Le chaos" from "Les élémens"; it follows "090 Handel Qual nave smarrita" from 'Radamisto", Handel - Partenope "Furibondo spira il vento", G.F. Handel - Suite in F major, HWV 348 ( Water Music), and concludes with Vivaldi, the Italian Baroque music composer, well-known across Europe and also a virtuoso violinist, teacher, and priest, with "Concerto for Violin, 2 Oboes, Bassoon and 2 Horns in F major RV 569, Les Ambassadeurs".

The second concert evening, on 7 September, also at 10pm, is conducted by Baldur Brönnimann and holds the heritage of French Romantic composer by Hector Berlioz and "Roman Carnival"; also, "Dance of the Hours", a short ballet and the act 3 finale of the opera La Gioconda composed by Italian composer Amilcare Ponchielli; Eric Coates follows with "Knightsbridge March", and then "Koanga", an opera with music by Frederick Delius; after, presents "The Three Cornered Hat", suite from the ballet by Manuel de Falla, Astor Piazzolla La Milonga del Angel as well, and concludes with "Mason Bates Mothership".
