Air Transat winter timetable also includes Porto Airport

The Canadian airline Air Transat announced its winter schedule operations, which will start on 1st November. The Canadian airliner will continue to operate the Toronto-Porto route, resumed in the end of July, for the winter timetable. 

The restart of operation on 23rd July, and following four months of forced lockdown amid the ongoing pandemic, Air Transat announced yesterday that the winter operation timetable will keep its Toronto - Porto connection.

Air Transat, which is in a merger process with Air Canada, will operate flights between Toronto, one of the most populated cities in Canada, and the Invicta. This operation will be "gradually increased" for the winter period.

"Despite the fact that all of the tourism industry has been disturbed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the wish to travel abroad and to aspire to a change of scenery and keep discovering new things is still very much alive in travellers", Transat's Operations Director, Annick Guérard enhanced in a statement by the Canadian airliner.

 "This is the reason why we must provide a strengthened offer. Now, more than ever, this 40 destination route plan enables us to redesigning the future, one step at a time, and renewing our mission, which is to bring joy to the daily lives of our passengers", she furthered.

In the framework of the current public health crisis, Transat offers its passengers more flexibility in managing reservations, while ensuring that all flights comply with sanitation rules.

The Air France-KLM Group has also announced the resuming of flights in Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, which is now three times more this month of August, with the Amsterdam-Schiphol and Paris-CDG operations already in place.

According to data by Eurocontrol, the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation, disseminated last July, Porto Airport registers a swifter recovery when compared to the Lisbon Airport.
