After a stroll through the garden pick a book or two

The Gardens of Palácio de Cristal are everyone's delight these days, with Porto Book Fair running from 6 to 22 September and the large and well laid refurbished Emil David Garden, with its restored Mathurin Moreau's Fonts d'art, which is the French expression for art pieces in cast iron.

The landscaped garden was rehabilitated with the utmost care and rigour and by regenerating the appearance of the Fonts d'Art at Palácio de Cristal, the City Hall is preserving the cultural heritage and the transmission of skills and expertise to future generations.

The Municipality of Porto invested circa 2.8 million euros in the refurbishment of the Palácio de Cristal green areas and so far, the Municipal Company GO Porto has advanced with the rehabilitation undertaking of the Palácio de Cristal enveloping areas, namely the gardeners' building, the renovation of the playground, the maintenance of the Alameda das Tílias [Linden Avenue] and the consolidation of the escarpment and the walls.

So, after a stroll through the garden, you are invited to discover Porto Book Fair and pick a book or two, or just admire the magnificent views facing the river Douro, as this week coincides with the Porto Book Fairs in town.
