The 'Porto Saudável' programme, which kicks off on 11 May, encourages walking outdoors, while promoting physical activity and cultural dynamism. Participants will have the city of Porto as their backdrop on these tours.

The inaugural walk to discover the city starts on Saturday, from Praça Gomes Teixeira (also known as Praça dos Leões). The aim is to encourage the community to exercise on a regular basis, combining the cultural, historical and heritage aspects of Porto, as the activities include visiting the most emblematic places of the city.

'Porto Saudável' is a municipal walking project led by physical education professionals. The routes are around five kilometres long and may vary depending on the path previously defined.

The programme, which has already had previous editions, is a partnership with RunPorto. Although participation is free, registration is compulsory and can be done here. It is open to all age groups, including people with reduced mobility.

The guided walks take place from 11 May to 28 September, always at 10am.
